Albert Isola was elected to the Gibraltar Parliament at a by-election on 4 July 2013 and was appointed the Minister with responsibility for Financial Services and Gaming. He is a barrister by profession and prior to his election was a senior partner of a major Gibraltar law firm where he worked extensively in financial services and was heavily involved in the promotion of this sector internationally. He has also worked on many of Gibraltar’s largest property developments both with developers and financial institutions.
Albert previously served in the Gibraltar Parliament from 1996-2000 when he was Shadow Minister for Trade, Financial Services and the Port with the GSLP Opposition. Albert is the third generation of his family to be involved in frontline politics. Financial services and gaming are important contributors to the Gibraltar economy and their continued development is high on his agenda.
